Rubber Lined Pipe & Non Metallic Linings

Rubber lined steel pipe is an alternative to the rubber hose for the straighter sections of a slurry system.

RUBBER LININGS AND COATINGS

The rubber lined steel pipe is available in various lengths. The rubber lined steel pipe does not need a support beam, only supports at each end.

The standard protective rubber lining used in slurry applications are lined with a natural or Synthetic rubber. Characteristics Rigid steel pipes lined with long‐life wear rubber with smooth walls and low flow resistance.

We specialize in working with customers to protect their equipment and assets in the industrial market.

We lead the way in being committed to utilizing the most advanced technology to evaluate, safely prepare and apply long term protective coatings. Storage tanks and piping-interior/exterior coatings and linings.

Bromobutyl

Bromobutyl is a derivative of the halobutyl family, which is structurally similar to chlorobutyl rubber and produced through the same halogenation process: By using the brominated process allows the same workability in the lining as a chlorobutyl.

As well with the brominated process these linings have the key ingredient “Exxon Mobile 2255". The Exxon Mobile 2255 Bromobutyl polymer will exhibit stronger physical characteristics over other Bromobutyl polymer linings.

The Proco Bromobutyl’s are both “pure" in polymer content, which means there is no other polymer in the formulation: The Exxon Mobile 2255 Bromobutyl polymer is 55% of the formula.

Advantages
  • Low glass transition temperature
  • Wide vulcanization versatility
  • Fast cure rates
  • Higher Heat Resistance
  • Stronger bond strength to substrates
  • Excellent Oxidation / Ozone
  • Resistance
  • Good Abrasion Resistance
  • Tight knitting of the molecular cross link w/ low permeability rate
  • Constant temperature of 127°F and handle spikes up to 150°C
Applications
  • High Heat Chemical Applications

Nitrile

Nitrile rubber (NBR) is a product formed by the copolymerization of acryl nitrile and butadiene. Many grades of NBR are available in which the acryl nitrile content varies from 18 to 51% by weight.

The addition of acryl nitrile enhances swelling resistance and impermeability. NBR is a polar-type rubber used where exposure to aliphatic hydrocarbons is a service condition. NBR exhibits good resistance to swelling when immersed in liquids that are non – or weakly polar, such as gasoline, grease, mineral oil, and animal or vegetable fats and oils.

Polar and aromatic solvents attack NBR. It should not be used with such aromatic solvents as: benzene, toluene, or xylene. NBR is less permeable to gases than natural rubber or SBR rubber.

However, it exhibits significantly improved heat and aging resistance to a level of 260 degrees F.

  • Power Generation
  • Mining

Protective Coatings

Polyurea

Polyurea is an organic polymer that is the reaction of isocyanate with an amine terminated polyether resin, forming a plastic-like or rubber-like compound that may be used in many of the same ways as older technologies – polyurethane, epoxy, vinyl ester, neoprene; to name a few.

A polyurea coating/elastomer is that derived from the reaction product of an isocyanate component and a resin blend component. The isocyanate can be aromatic or aliphatic in nature.

It can be monomer, polymer, or any variant reaction of isocyanates, quasi-prepolymer or a prepolymer.

The prepolymer, or quasi-prepolymer, can be made of an amine-terminated polymer resin, or a hydroxyl-terminated polymer resin. The Resin blend must be made up of amine-terminated polymer resins, and/or amine terminated chain extenders.

The amine-terminated polymer resins will not have any intentional hydroxyl moieties. Any hydroxyls are the result of incomplete conversion to the amine-terminated polymer resins. The resin blend may also contain additives, or non-primary components.

These additives may contain hydroxyls, such as pre-dispersed pigments in a polyol carrier. Normally, the resin blend will not contain a catalyst(s).

Epoxy

Is either any of the basic components or the cured end products of epoxy resins, as well as a colloquial name for the epoxide functional group.

Epoxy resins, also known as polyoxides, are a class of reactive prepolymers and polymers which contain epoxide groups. Epoxy resins may be reacted (cross-linked) either with themselves through catalytic photopolymerization, or with a wide range of co-reactants including polyfunctional amines, acids (and acid anhydrides), phenols, alcohols and thiols.

These co-reactants are often referred to as hardeners or curatives, and the cross-linking reaction is commonly referred to as curing. Reaction of polyoxides with themselves or with polyfunctional hardeners forms a thermosetting polymer, often with high mechanical properties, temperature and chemical resistance.

Epoxy has a wide range of applications, including metal coatings, use in electronics / electrical components/LED, high tension electrical insulators, paint brushes manufacturing, fiber-reinforced plastic materials and structural adhesives.
